Walk the Freedom Park Loop

LOCATION:
Freedom Park
100, Raincliffe Rd
Sykesville, MD 21784

PSA:
Please check this page the night before and the morning of the walk for (potential) status updates.

DESCRIPTION:

• This easy loop consists of about 2 miles of paved trails.
• We'll walk the loop twice for a total of about 4 miles (or you may bail out after one loop).
• We'll move at an average pace of 2.5 miles per hour, and include a couple breaks.
• You'll have time to take a few quick photos along the way if you'd like.

DEPARTURE:
We'll start at 9AM; please allow ample travel and preparation time as we strive to be considerate of everyone's shared time.

CLOTHING:
Weather-appropriate clothing and walking shoes/boots are highly recommended. You may also wish to bring your hiking poles or walking stick. Be sure to bring water and bug spray, too :)

MEETING LOCATION:
We'll meet in the parking lot on the left side of Buttercup Road, across from a small building and near the fields.

RSVP PROTOCOLS:

• Sign up if 100% you're serious about attending this hike. Spaces are limited and, when you cancel less than 48 hours in advance, you may keep other members from attending.
• Attend the hike if your RSVP is confirmed (we reserve the right to turn you away if your name is not listed on the "Going" tab).
• Change your RSVP to "Not Going" if you can no longer attend

MEMBER PROFILE PHOTOS:
To participate in our events, you must display a recent member photo on your profile.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS:

• Please refrain from moving ahead of the hike leader or falling too far behind, as we're unable to move at your pace or provide directions
• If you find the hike pace unworkable, please feel free to separate from the group and continue on your own
• Most of all, we look forward to hiking together!
