LAST MINUTE WEEKEND HIKE: Hike the West Friendship Park Trail

DESCRIPTION:
Explore this 2.5 mile natural trail loop in West Friendship, Maryland.

• It's generally considered an easy route
• It can be muddy in certain spots, so be sure to wear sturdy footwear and bring your hiking poles/walking stick if you have them
• The trail offers an eclectic mix of farmland, woods, and paths
• It takes about 1-1.5 hours to complete at an average speed of 2.5 miles per hour, which includes breaks to hydrate, take in the views, and snap a few photos

DEPARTURE: We'll start at 9:00AM; please allow ample travel and preparation time as we strive to be considerate of everyone's shared time.

CLOTHING/ADDITIONAL ITEMS: Weather-appropriate clothing and walking shoes/boots are highly recommended. You may also wish to bring your hiking poles/walking stick. Don't forget your bug spray and water. :)

MEETING LOCATION: We'll meet in the parking lot towards the back of the property.

RSVP PROTOCOLS:

• Only sign up if 100% you're serious about attending this hike. Spaces are limited and, when you cancel less than 48 hours in advance, you may keep other members from attending!
• Only attend the hike if your RSVP is confirmed (we reserve the right to turn anyone away whose name is not listed on the "Going" tab).
• Change your RSVP to "Not Going" if you can no longer attend

MEMBER PROFILE PHOTOS: To participate in our events, you must display a recent member photo on your profile.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS:

• Please refrain from moving ahead of the hike leader or falling too far behind, as we're unable to move at your pace or provide directions
• If you find the hike pace unworkable, please feel free to separate from the group and continue on your own
• Most of all, we look forward to hiking together!
