A Scenic Tour of Avalon at Patapsco

EVENT: This will be a moderate hike 5.8 miles, with a variation in elevation of 378 feet. The ridge has many variation in altitude ,so be prepared to get your cardio in. We will be moving at an average pace of 2.5 miles per hour, with a break every half mile or as needed. There are a few stream crossing so be prepared.
*Please do not move ahead of the group leader. The pace has to be uniform for the group and the group leader will not be proving directions to individuals who wish to move ahead.

DEPARTURE: We will be leaving at the preset time, so please be on time as we will not have the flexibility to wait. We have to be considerate of everyone's time, so if you are late you will need to catch up to the group.

TERRAIN: Flat with various inclines up to 378 feet. Forest and open meadows along the way with water crossings.

CLOTHING: Long hiking pants and hiking shoes or boots are highly recommended.

WHERE TO MEET: We will be meeting at the "Morning Choice" trailhead on Landing. Rd. Parking is only available on one side, so be mindful of the signs posted.

RSVP Procedure: Only RSVP if you intend to make the hike a priority. Specifically, it is Not fair to take a confirmed spot, then cancel less than 48 hours in advance, limiting your fellow DMV Hikers Club members in “waitlist” status, the potential to participate!
