DESCRIPTION:
The natural, rolling trails at Serenity Ridge are situated on a 177-acre piece of land in Baltimore County that's home to Maryland's first natural burial (green) cemetery. We'll hike the trails that loop around the cemetery.
- This is a 4+/- mile hike on natural trails with an option to bail out after 2 miles
- It's generally considered a moderate route
- It takes about 2-3 hours to complete at an average pace of 2 1/2 miles per hour. We'll include breaks for hydration, photos, and observation of the views
- One dog is welcome; please message the hike leader if you'd like to bring your furry friend.
DEPARTURE: We'll start at 9:30AM; please allow ample travel and preparation time as we strive to be considerate of everyone's shared time.
CLOTHING: Weather-appropriate clothing and walking shoes/boots are highly recommended. You may also wish to bring your hiking poles/walking stick.
MEETING LOCATION: We'll meet in the main parking lot.
RSVP PROTOCOLS:
- Only sign up if 100% you're serious about attending this hike. Spaces are limited and, when you cancel less than 48 hours in advance, you may keep other members from attending!
- Only attend the hike if your RSVP is confirmed (you'll be turned away if your name is not listed on the "Going" tab).
- Change your RSVP to "Not Going" if you can no longer attend
MEMBER PROFILE PHOTOS: To participate in our events, you must display a recent member photo on your profile.
ADDITIONAL ITEMS:
- Please refrain from moving ahead of the hike leader or falling too far behind the group
- If you find the hike pace unworkable, please feel free to separate from the group and continue on your own
- Most of all, we look forward to hiking together!
