Movie Discussion: The Tiny World of Insects
Details
Just because insects are small doesn't mean they're not mighty. This BBC Earth documentary uses extreme close-ups and innovative filming to reveal the dramatic, high-stakes survival battles and incredible adaptations of insects. The movie showcases insects not as pests but as nature's problem-solvers with unique strategies for defense (exoskeletons; venom), hunting (army ants), and societal structures, highlighting their crucial, powerful role on Earth. Narrated by Paul Rudd.
Side note: The video talks about insects that “return from the dead”, which might make you think it’s an unscientific film since that’s not possible. But I believe they’re just speaking loosely (for drama) since everything else in the film seems scientifically sound.
