CHESAPEAKE BEACH YRE GROUP WALK
Boardwalks views of the Chesapeake Bay
Start Point: On the Railroad Museum porch adjoining the Rod and Reel Resort 4165 Mears Ave., Chesapeake Beach, MD 20732
Start sign in and start between 9AM and 10:30 AM and Finish walk by 12 noon if you are joining us for lunch.
Drive Directions: From I-495/I-95 (DC) - Take exit 11, Rt 4 S. Just before Calvert County line, exit right to Rt 260. Proceed about 8 miles to Chesapeake Beach. When Rt 260 intersects Rt 261, at light, turn RIGHT to next traffic light, turn LEFT to Mears. Rod and Reel Resort and Spa is at the end of the street. From Baltimore I-695 - Take I-97/Rt 3/Rt 301 corridor South to Rt 4, near Upper Marlboro. Go South on Rt 4 and proceed as above.
FREE PARKING - AVAILABLE IN PARKING GARAGE – PLEASE OBEY ALL PARKING RESTRICTIONS.
Trail Options: 5-km and 10-km rated 2A - Part of the trail is in North Beach and goes by historic homes, antique stores, eateries, and marshland along a boardwalk. This portion of the walk would be rated 1A. The part in Chesapeake Beach has more hills, including one steep downhill section. WETLAND trail 5-km and 10-km with views of the Chesapeake Bay, wetlands and boardwalk.
Walk Fee for all walkers and you can earn IVV credit is $4.00. Children 12 and under walk for free (IVV-credit included) courtesy of FHW. “Cheaper by the Dozen” YRE coupons accepted.
