The Seneca Valley Sugarloafers Volksmarch Club is sponsoring the Jackie Johnson Memorial Walk in Boyds, MD on Saturday, May 31, 2025. The walk honors Diana Jacqueline (Jackie) Johnson, who passed away on
May 17, 2024. Jackie helped found the Sugarloafers on June 4, 1987, and helped organize the first Sugarloafers' walk at Black Hill Regional Park in 1987.
The trail, rated 2, is a 10km (6.2 miles) course mostly on natural surfaces. There are several hills. This is a woodland trail and not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. A shorter trail (5km, 3.1 miles) is also available.
The Start/Finish point is Black Hill Regional Park, 20930 Lake Ridge Road, Picnic Shelter C; Boyds, MD 20841. Registration is between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. You MUST finish the walk by 3:00 p.m.
ALL WALKERS over 12 years pay the $4 participation fee. Walkers 12 and under are free at all events sponsored by the Seneca Valley Sugarloafers. Restrooms and water are available near the Start/Finish point. Pets are allowed but must be kept leashed at all times and owners must clean up after their pets.
