Online: Recent Research at APL's Intelligent Systems Center

Details
The Intelligent Systems Center (ISC) acts as a focal point for research and development in intelligent systems at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL).
Our meetup guest is ISC Chief Ashley J. Llorens, who will discuss recent research at the ISC. Register for this online Zoom program at https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_EPqEhqiURtichOs3bhISuQ . Thanks to sponsor Amazon Web Services for underwriting meetup costs.
From the ISC Web page: "Intelligent systems can make decisions under uncertainty – some of our intelligent systems can fly, walk, swim and roll and others ingest vast, complex datasets to make useful predictions. APL leverages and extends advances in machine intelligence to enable systems like these to perform increasingly sophisticated tasks autonomously in challenging scenarios." Our speaker: Ashley J. Llorens is chief of the Intelligent Systems Center at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL), where he directs research and development in machine learning, robotics, autonomous systems, and neuroscience towards addressing the nation’s most critical challenges. He received an M.S. in electrical engineering, with a concentration in digital signal processing, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a voting member of the Recording Academy, the organization that organizes the Grammys.
