About us
We're a friendly, inclusive hiking group. Most of our hikes are in Central Maryland, within 20 minutes of I-695. We have hikes for beginners, which are around 4 miles, and easy terrain. We also have weekly hikes that are moderate or strenuous for more experienced hikers. The hikes will be labeled as "easy" (mainly flat, walking), "moderate" (a mix of some hills and flat trail) or "strenuous/difficult" (steep hills or rock scrambling).
Other activities might be camping, kayaking, sailing, climbing, and winter activities like bowling, dancing...any suggestions??
To request membership, in your primary Meetup profile you will need to use your actual name including last name or initial, and post a recognizable headshot photo. Please make needed changes to your Meetup profile before applying! Thanks, Tim

Cromwell Valley Park - Monday Meander #4 - Easy ~4 miles
Cromwell Valley Park, Sherwood Entrance, 2002 Cromwell Bridge Road, Baltimore, MD, USJoin me for a short hike on Monday mornings at Cromwell Valley Park, my favorite local park! Let’s start the week with an energizing walk, immersed in nature, and shared with fellow nature-loving people!
This week, we’ll explore beautiful woodland trails, cross a few streams, and climb several big hills throughout this hike - a nice challenge! We will roughly follow this trail.

Please use the first entrance off Cromwell Bridge Road (if coming from the Beltway) - the Sherwood entrance at 2002 Cromwell Bridge Road, Parkville, MD 21234. Cromwell is undergoing construction, and the main parking areas are closed. Please park on the left just after driving through the white gates and meet me at the notice board.
This is a regular hike - same place and time on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month. Distances will vary slightly, but generally expect 3 to 4 miles in about 90 minutes to 2 hours. Join one or many!

- Pace: ~2.4 mph or so with several breaks.

Bluebell Season Hike - Susquehanna State Park - Moderate+ ~8 miles/1200 ft
Rock Run Grist Mill, 761 Stafford Road, Havre de Grace, MD, USPlease read the full description
Spring is here! Late March to mid-April is Virginia bluebell season. If timing is on our side, we’ll catch the bluebells at their peak on this beautiful loop hike through Susquehanna State Park. (When we did this hike in December last year, a friend told me about bluebell season - I’m determined not to miss it!)
This is a great hike! Expect rolling hills, dense forests, river views, and - hopefully - carpets of bluebells. There are a few tricky stream crossings, so waterproof shoes/boots and hiking poles are recommended.
Please note that this is NOT a beginner hike due to distance, elevation gain, and pace. We'll hike at a brisk pace of 2.7 mph, but will stop for flower photos!
Optional drinks/lunch afterwards at Hopkins Farm Brewery (3833 Rider Ln, Havre De Grace, MD 21078). They don’t serve food, but there are usually some very good food trucks. 😋
This hike is in a state park, so you'll be able to add ~8 miles to your total Miles for Maryland if you're participating! More info about the challenge below.
