Morgan's Mill Trail to Gunpowder Falls - 6 miles

Join me for a 6-mile, moderate hike in Loch Raven. This is a really beautiful hike through the woods, with some great water views. There are a couple of hills, so expect a bit of a workout!

Total elevation gain of 940 ft, and our pace will vary between 2.5 and 2.7 mph. Plan for about 2.5 to 3 hours total.

The trailhead coordinates are 39.453410, -76.544194. Please park in the parking area on the north side of Morgan Mill Road, near the intersection with Loch Raven Drive (99 Loch Raven Dr, Phoenix, MD 21131). We'll meet at the trailhead on the opposite side of the road. There are unfortunately no restrooms.

What to Bring

• It’s archery hunting season, so please wear something bright orange. (If you don’t have something orange, don’t let it deter you.)
• Bring plenty of water and a snack or light lunch, if you’d like.
• Wear sturdy hiking boots or trail running shoes.

If you’d like to bring a dog, please comment first — only one dog will be allowed on this hike. Dogs must remain leashed and well-hydrated at all times.
