Never offered before by any of the hiking groups, this hike offers a farm experience complete with an array of working animals! (I don’t know how hard they are working these days!) How many times can you say you saw a longhorn ox, horses and sheep on a hike? There is also a good view of the taller buildings of Towson Center. And there’s a view of the hills of Oregon Ridge (it’s on the other side of Shawan Road).
I am aiming for four miles. We will loop back to the main building during the hike, so you can cut out earlier if you wish. The pace is moderate, and we will stop to say hi to our animal friends. There are no trails, but open grass and some paved or dirt roads. Elevation gain of about 225 feet.
Take driveway. At T intersection, take left for parking. Meet at the front of the main building. Bathrooms are available outside and in the main building. The Ag Ctr is open the public from sunrise to sunset.
