This may be a new hike for this group. Come join me in Westminster, MD.
Hike the Hashawha Loop in Westminster MD. 4 miles, no stream crossing, with a few hills and a little mud.
During this hike we will see scenic trails along with getting the benefits of fresh air and exercise. We will step off promptly @ 10:00 am with a medium pace, 2 - 2.5 mph. Definitely bring a great attitude.
Hashawha Environmental Center is a 320-acre park that includes 5 miles of multi-use trails, raptor mews, fishing at Lake Hashawha, abundant wildlife, and the restored Martin Cabin Homestead.
NOTE: There are a few hills, and no stream crossings.
Terrain is mostly hard packed trail with some tree roots and rocks.
NO Dogs please.
SUGGESTED HIKING MATERIALS:
- Highly recommend Hiking boots/ hiking shoes. Sneakers with treads can work.
- Water & healthy snacks.
- Sunscreen & Insect Repellant.
- Optional: hiking/trekking poles.
WHERE TO MEET:
- Meet at the Bear Branch Nature Center parking lot, located in Hashawha Park. Sporty-pot at hike start and facilities when the Nature Center opens at 11 (after we start).

- Note: The Bear Brach Nature Center has a listed address of John Owings Road, but is actually located on Hashawha Rd, off of John Owings rd. See the attached picture.
