Loch Raven Merryman Trail (Pot Spring area) 4-5 mile hike (dog-friendly)
Details
Join me (and my 2 little canine side-kicks) for a pretty (and pretty easy) 4-5 mile loop hike through some of the Loch Raven's Merryman trail starting at the end of Pot Spring Road in Timonium. We will meet at the trailhead which can be hard to see until you are standing in front of it, but you will see lots of cars parked there (and me and my pups).
This is the time of year where I seek out the "fire" trails because they are wider and less overgrown. (There's only so much a gal can do with a pair of clippers by herself :-). All but one section of the hike will be shaded and in the woods. We will be spending a good amount of the hike on fire trails, but also hiking on some on single-track Mt. bike/hiking trails. Near the end, we can leave the fire trail and pop back onto a single track trail (if not too overgrown) and go visit the Merryman's Cemetary which is pretty cool. Then we'll take a little trail that goes along a creek down to a pretty spot at the reservoir (with a tiny waterfall) where we can stop and have a snack (and wade if you want).
Total elevation is around 500 ft. A few minor ups and downs but this is a really chill trail overall. We'll aim for a relaxing pace of about 2.5mph. Be prepared for the occasional dog "stop" haha. Please bring plenty of water for yourself (and your pup if you are bringing one). Dogs must be leashed at all times during the hike, and must be friendly towards people and other dogs.
