The 2014 Schedule has been announced !!!

For 8 succesive Wednesdays, there is a guided history tour on the Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail, which I think most of us know as the NCR Trail. Each tour will cover the specific history of both the trail and the surrounding area of the stated location. Each tour starts at the indicated NCR stop and "bites off" roughly 10 miles for that evening. What a great way to eventually experience the entire trail in bite size portions. The Maryland Park Service volunteer in Monkton couldn't stop praising this series when I asked her about it. The leader is a "local" who is very passionate about the history of his "hometown". There is no charge.

Just to be VERY clear. This event is open to anyone; it is not dedicated to this Meetup group. We are not the ones in charge of the start time; the Guide is. So please do not be late. We can't ask him to wait.

Also, Here's a link to the DNR website which gives directions to each of the 8 locations (also with a nice map of the Trail).

The "kick off" tour is on June 4 at Paper Mill Rd. Hope to see you all there!

As we get closer, I'll revise the write up to include more detail.
