2023 Masherbrum 5588m Nochma Peak Climbing

Minya Konka (7556m), the world's highest peak beyond the Himalaya,is also one of the most sacred mountains to Tibetan Buddhists. Situated in the Daxue Shan mountain range, between Dadu River and Yalong River, part of the Hengduan mountainous region, With the highest peak of 7,556 meters above sea level, enjoys the fame as "the King of Sichuan Mountains. As the concentrated area of high peaks in Hengduan Mountains, Minya Konka region owns more than 20 high peaks at altitude of more than 6000 meters.

Nochma Peak(5588m),as one of the subsidiary peaks of the Konka mountains, it was first climbed by Mr and Mrs Billy from Germany in 2001. Recently Nochma has become one of popular climbing peaks in china. It is regarded as the entry-level to climb among all the peaks towering above 5500 meters in the China. It is not very difficult to climb across crevasses and slopes covered with ice and snow. It will just take one or two days to summit from the base camp. The climber who attempts Nochma Peak should have prior trekking or camping experience at 4000m+ plateau and also has a sufficient physical condition.

There are 2 camps in the traditional route. The route approaches the mountain from Caoke town, trekking to the base camp at 4200m, continue to C1 at 4850m. From camp1, you need crossing gravel slopes, ice walls and snow slopes, the last part to the summit is requested by roped-up group on the exciting ridge line.

Day 01: Arrive in Chengdu(500m), Check-in hotel
Check equipment,berifing and sign the agreement.

Day 02:Drive to Caoke town, trek to ZiMei Village (3200m)
Driving to Shimian county through expressway, and then arrive in Caoke town. After lunch, continue to drive to the mountain entrance point-Boundary Tablet. We will trek 8km-16km to ZiMei village.

Day 03:Trek to Minya Konka Temple and base camp ( 4200m)
Minya Konka Temple is not only is it a famous temple of Tibetan Buddhism, it is also one of the best photograph places for Minya Konka. The whole trekking takes 6-7 hours for 11km to the base camp.

Day 04:Base camp to Camp 1 (4850m)
It treks 4-5 hours to Camp1 for 5km. Team members need to carry their own climbing luggage or hire horsing. Pre-climbing training will be arranged in the afternoon.

Day 05:Summit day(5588m), back to ZiMei Village
Get up at 2:30 am and leave at 3:30. The summit takes 5-6 hours, and the descending to C1 is about 4 hours, you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of Minya Konka. Continue descending to BC in the afternoon. Finally back to ZiMei village.

Day 06:Back to Caoke town (1500m)
Treks to Boundary Tablet from ZiMei Village, local jeep will pick up to Caoke town. You can enjoy Caoke bontique hot spring hotel, don’t forget bring your swimming suits.

Day 07:Drive back to Chengdu (500m).
Normally will arrive in Chengdu around the afternoon 4:00pm, please book the flight after 18:00pm or next day.
