6178m Yuzhu Peak Climbing

Yuzhu Peak(玉珠峰),6178m is located in Golmud City, Qinghai Province. Yuzhu Peak is the highest peak in the eastern section of Kunlun Mountains on the edge of the Qing-Tibet Plateau and affected by the plateau climate.

South Slope Climbing Route of Yuzhu Peak is considered to be F+ / Easy (Facile) grade based on Alpine System / International French Adjectival System (IFAS), only 8km distance from Base Camp to top, it is considered a trekking level 6000m+ peak, has became No.1 puplar 6000m+ peak in china. However some climbers fedback that thin oxygen level of Yuzhu Peak was equal to the 7000m+ peak, it would be still a challenge.

D1 Arrive in Golmud, Equipment check
Arrival in Golmud and check-in Hilton hotel, our climbing leader will hold a briefing with members, Gear&Equipment check and sign the agreement with members.

D2 Golmud—XidaTan
Depart from Golmud in the morning, driving along the Qing-Tibet highway, arrive in the XidaTan. You will enjoy wonderful on the way, and can see three glaciers north side of Yuzhu Peak from XidaTan.

D3 Acclimatization in XidaTan
Today is acclimatization day, our leader will do mountaineering training for preparation of the climbing.

D4 XidaTan— Base Camp
Depart from XidaTan, driving along the Qing-Tibet highway until Kunlun mountain pass, then turn into simple way of road 15km until Base Camp of Yuzhu Peak.Team members may take time to acclimatize.

D5 Acclimatization in Base Camp
Acclimatization in base camp, also will go to the glacier place for pre-climbing training.

D6 Base Camp —Camp 1
Today team members pack personal equipment and heading to C1 camp, distance 5km about 6 hours. The first 1.5 km along the river, and the last 3.5 km along the ridge. The steepest part of the ridge is about 20°, and the average slope is about 10°.

D7 Camp 1— Top 6178m—BC—Golmud

Get up at 2:00am,set off at 3:30am. The climbing distance is 3km to top, 5-6 hours. The steepest slope is close to the peak about 25° for 30meters distance. After the summit, return to the C1 camp to pack up the equipment. Continue return to the base camp, afterwards directly drive to the Golmud,back to Hilton Hotel.

Camping: Sleeping bag 1 (comfort rating -20°C), Trekking boots
Clothing: Waterproof jacket, Waterproof over trousers, Down jacket(filling weight 250g+), Fleece jacket and trouser, 2 underwear, 3 pairs of thermal socks, Waterproof gloves, warm hat, sunhat
Bags: Backpack 50 L +, Small bag 30L(optional), Transport bag 120L+( gift given)
Drinking: Thermal mug（1L）

【Requirement】
The member should have prior 4000m+ mountain trekking or climbing experience
