Is Freemasonry a Religion?

Details
January's study will be conducted by Bro. Nathan Hardy as he asks the question, "Is Freemasonry a Religion?"
Synopsis:
Freemasonry: a fraternity, a charitable organization...a cult? Or perhaps, something far more profound. Legends of secret rituals and arcane symbols have long shrouded Freemasonry in mystery. Yet, beneath the veil lies a tradition echoing the ancient mystery schools of Greece and Egypt, where allegory and ritual served as gateways to inner transformation and the pursuit of truth. But can this journey, guided by symbolism and steeped in moral philosophy, be considered a religion?
Delve into the heart of this enigmatic fraternity and examine its claims to spiritual significance. Does the emphasis on personal growth, wisdom, and moral development constitute a "binding" (religare) with something greater than oneself? Is Freemasonry a unique path to the divine, a complement to established faiths, or simply a system of ethics and self-discovery? Join us as we explore the historical roots of Freemasonry, its philosophical underpinnings, and its potential to provide spiritual meaning in the modern world.
