Are We Strong Enough to Be Hercules?
Details
May's topic will be conducted by Bro. Danielle Slack in a study of Freemasonry discussing the question: "Are We Strong Enough to Be Hercules?"
Synopsis:
This presentation invites us into a shared exploration of the myth of Hercules—not just as a hero of legend, but as a mirror for our own struggles and growth. While Hercules is remembered for his superhuman strength, his greatest challenges were deeply human: grief, guilt, rage, and the search for redemption. Together, we’ll discuss what it really means to be “strong”—emotionally, morally, spiritually—and whether we, like Hercules, can rise above our flaws and burdens. Through open dialogue, we’ll examine his Twelve Labors and the inner trials behind them to ask: what does it take to walk the path of a hero?
Mission Statement:
The Masonic Philosophical Society embraces the concept of learning, not for school, but for life, and believes that all men, who seek it, deserve access to continued education. We further embrace the concept of a community environment where ideas can be shared and debated in an open forum. From the seven liberal arts to the arcane, we seek to gain and share the knowledge that is the legacy of mankind.
