Sandra Forman, a Boston-based entertainment lawyer with a primary focus on the representation of independent film and television producers wants to answer any and all your legal questions!

Filmmakers create and divert our total energy into making beautiful works of art. But there is another side of the industry that does not include any creative insight but is necessary, and that is the legal side.

On Tuesday, October 27th, 6:30 pm-7:45 pm Role Hat Collective and Boston Screenwriter's Group present a Zoom discussion addressing many of the hot (and often complex) topics that confront scriptwriters and filmmakers alike.

Let Ms. Forman give you an extensive checklist of all the things you need before, during, and after the filmmaking process; on issues such as rights clearances, licensing, fair use, optioning rights, production and distribution agreements, and much more. This could be the difference between you getting to post your finished film on the web or not. You, the Filmmaker will lead the topics of discussion, based on questions pertaining to your projects. This isn't a lecture, it's a discussion!

She provides consultation and legal support for her clients as they move through all phases of their projects, from financing and development through production and distribution. Sandra has a diverse practice in the areas of entertainment and copyright law. Her clients include film and television producers, directors, screenwriters, animators, book authors, talent, book publishers, distributors, and more

In addition to her legal practice, she has also served for over 13 years as project director and legal counsel for the Eyes on the Prize Re-Release Project. Beginning her career in the entertainment field at WGBH Public Television in Boston and is a frequent guest speaker at universities, conferences, film festivals, and media organizations.
