A strong proposal for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution was filed in the new session of the U.S. House on March 30 called the "We the People Amendment" (H.J. Res.48).
This amendment, if proposed by Congress and ratified by 38 states, would overturn Supreme Court rulings that have undermined our democracy by giving powerful special interests undue influence over our government.

More on why to support this amendment proposal:
A series of Supreme Court rulings, including the famous Citizens United v. FEC, have resulted in an avalanche of special interest money buying our elections and controlling public policy. Just as importantly, the extension of constitutional rights to corporations has resulted in America's courts overturning hundreds of laws protecting our health, safety, environment, and democracy itself. The We the People Amendment is the only amendment proposal that would address both of these threats to our self-government, by affirming that (1) the rights protected under the Constitution are the inalienable rights of human individuals, not of artificial entities, and (2) money spent to influence elections is not protected free speech under the First Amendment, and shall be regulated by Congress and the States to ensure political equality for all Americans.
