Call Reps. Auchinclossand Clark to Cosponsor the "We the People Amendment"

Details
NEWS FLASH:
Congressman Richard Neal has recently co-sponsored the We the People Amendment (H.J. Res. 54), becoming the 7th Representative in the nine-member Massachusetts Congressional delegation* to do so.
Nationwide, 83 members of Congress have co-sponsored the We the People Amendment (H.J. Res. 54) so far.
If you are a constituent of U.S. Representative Katherine Clark or Jake Auchincloss, you should know that they are the only two members of the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts who have not yet co-sponsored the We the People Amendment.
Please Rep. Clark's a call at **(202) 225-2836**
or Rep. Auchincloss' at (202) 225-5931
and request that they join the seven other Representatives in the Massachusetts delegation in co-sponsoring the We the People Amendment (H.J. Res. 54).
Supreme Court rulings such as Citizens United v. FEC and McCutcheon v. FEC have effectively nullified the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (a.k.a McCain/Feingold). The resulting massive surge in political contributions from large corporations and billionaires is undermining the fundamental principle of one person, one vote. Thus, government of, by and for all the people and the country as a whole has morphed into government of, by and for a tiny minority of large corporations and billionaires. That is not how democracy is supposed to work.
The Supreme Court based their rulings on two undemocratic doctrines: 1) political spending is a form of free speech that cannot be regulated to ensure the political equality of rich and poor alike, and 2) artificial incorporated entities have Constitutional rights, including freedom of speech, as if they were real people.
Neither the President nor Congress can overturn flawed Supreme Court doctrines. Only a Constitutional amendment can do that.
As a constituent of Representative Clark, please give her office a call at **(202) 225-2836** and ask her to join seven other members of the Massachusetts delegation in co-sponsoring the We the People Amendment (H.J. Res. 54).
Sincerely,
The Volunteers of We the People Massachusetts
