🗣Talk one: From Junior to Senior

How to progress with confidence in your career? What are the qualities that the companies are seeking in a senior? How to progress in our career growth? These are all questions that all of us struggle at some point. Some paths make us grow in a solid way, other ways turn out to be not so beneficial in the long run. In this talk we'll discuss the qualities that make us be recognized as seniors in our profession.

Speaker: Marin Metohu

In the last ten years have worked for a variety of projects and companies from startups, corporations, governmental institutions, NGO's, both as a freelance consultant and fulltime employee. Always advocating for UX design processes and methodologies while helping teams work better together.

This Panel session will be held and Mc’ed with Senior Designers, who will be discussing the truth and realities, tips and honest advice on how to become more senior in your field and advance in your career. They will be discussing what companies, clients and fellow colleagues are looking for in senior designers. They will be passing on tangible steps and advice from their own careers, what they look for from their design teams and hires, and how career progression is in your hands, and how to make it happen.

🗣MC: Lydia Selim (She/Her), Lead Product Designer
Lydia is a Lead Product Designer with a focus on human centred Product Design & Strategy and more than 14 years experience. Her passion is to improve people's lives through design, to understand their needs and motivations and reflect that knowledge into products making meaningful impact on their lives. Lydia is also advocating for a collaborative and transparent design process cross-disciplines. She considers every day as an opportunity to learn, grow and help others to grow.

🗣Leonie Brewin (She/Her), Head of Design
Leonie is Head of Design at Novoda, a digital design agency based in Berlin and London. As a design leader, she has worked with organisations in the UK & Germany to advance careers and build meaningful digital experiences in the mobile space. With over 12 years of experience in the industry, she’s a firm believer in learning through collaboration in environments that promote career development with a healthy work-life balance.

Vale recently turned to freelancing after experiencing being part of big and small teams of organizations operating in different industries.
Personal development, design ethics and inclusivity are close to their heart. They love to mentor aspiring UX professionals and they are currently exploring impactful ways to become the type of leader they believe digital product and service design need.
