In-person Math Counts April 2025 - Groups and their graphs

This will be a gentle introduction to abstract group theory, using the symmetries of the equilateral triangle. No text needed, I will recap the
Cayley table and Cayley graph of the Symmetric Group, S_3, the full permutation group on 3 elements, which is also the geometric symmetry group of the equilateral triangle.

The next step will be the set theoretic definition of group action, which is the bridge between the abstract group and the symmetries of an object.

I am moving the April meeting to Sunday, as I have another commitment on Saturday afternoon.
