Route safety and regulations
We strongly recommend arranging personal sports insurance. The registration fee does not include insurance coverage.
Please note: after Mátraháza, there is a long downhill section, we urge all riders to pay particular attention to their chosen speed here. A closed, hard-shell helmet is mandatory at all times.
Riders who fall significantly behind the lead group may continue the race outside the main protected convoy, but under escort. On these sections, there may be contact with public traffic, so heightened awareness and caution are essential. These riders must remain in full race kit with their bib number and continue with a support vehicle following them towards the finish line.
Route safety is provided by the Hungarian Police, 30(!) UBE motorcycle marshals and local civil guards.
Full road closure on Saturday between Mátraháza and the Parádsasvár car park from 10:30 to 11:30 and from 12:20 to 13:20.
On Sunday, restricted traffic control will be in effect between Mátraháza and Kékestető from 11:00 to 13:00.
The planning of motorcycle marshal numbers is carried out jointly with the Police and the professional organisation responsible for route safety, the Association for Route Safety in Transport (UBE). The UBE motorcyclists hold certified UCI licences, first aid training, and annually renewed advanced-level riding qualifications. A professional ambulance service will also be present.
The route is not fully closed for the entire distance. The race proceeds with directed traffic restrictions under the supervision of police and the organiser. On each section, the movement of public vehicles is controlled by the police, local civil guards, and UBE motorcycle marshals. There are controlled conditions, with temporary traffic slowing or halting as needed.
Compliance with the official race regulations of the Hungarian Cycling Federation is mandatory. Any breach of the race regulations will result in immediate disqualification.
