Telli Davul: Anatolian psychedelic Folk-Pop

Details
Following the traces of 1970s Folk Rock & Pop, Telli Davul takes its name from a phrase used by musicians in Istanbul's old orchestras to describe the bass guitar: "Telli Davul" (literally "Stringed Drum").
The band blends the traditional music of Anatolia with their original compositions, enriched with psychedelic motifs and interpreted in their unique style. Incorporating melodic bass lines, they use instruments such as the yaylı tambur and çağlama, often allowing space for improvisation.
The lineup features Muaz Ceyhan on vocals, yaylı tambur, and çağlama, Maya Muz on keyboards, Danae Palaka on drums, and Özer Ateş on bass guitar. Telli Davul combines tradition with an innovative approach, honoring the past while carving new paths in the psychedelic and folk music scenes.
