Joshua Burnell Trio: “Retro Folk & Pop Rock”

For the very first time in the Netherlands: Joshua Burnell will perform at Matrix Rotterdam on Friday 28 November 2025 with his trio.
Joshua Burnell creates retro pop-rock for the modern age, blending folk, glam rock and 70s art rock influences. His latest album Glass Knight was described by the Financial Times as “a lost out-take from Bowie’s Spiders-from-Mars era” and has won him rave reviews and a growing international following.
He has appeared at major festivals such as Cropredy (20,000 visitors), Towersey and Wickham, each time leaving the stage to standing ovations. Expect captivating melodies, warm retro synths, shimmering guitars, violin, mandolin and lush harmonies – music that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
