# πŸš‡ The Social Subway: How Your Network Shapes Who You Become

This session explores how the people, environments, and conversations around us shape the way we think, feel, and move through life.
Using the subway system as a metaphor, we will reflect on the β€œlines” we have been on, the perspectives we have been exposed to, and how our social networks influence our identity and beliefs.

***

## What to Expect

### Prologue: Introductions & Icebreaker (3:00–3:15 PM)

We will begin with a simple, low-pressure introduction to get everyone comfortable and engaged. You will reflect on how your current life feels metaphorically, like a subway line, and the people who are part of that experience.

***

### Part 1: Reflection & Open Discussion (3:15–3:45 PM)

This portion focuses on self-awareness.
You will explore:

  • The environments that shaped your thinking growing up
  • Moments where your perspective shifted
  • Whether your current surroundings are expanding or reinforcing your beliefs

This may begin quietly or in pairs before opening into a larger group discussion.

***

### Part 2: Conversation Circles (3:45–4:45 PM)

You will choose one-two conversations circle based on what resonates most with you:

  • Work & Purpose
  • Relationships
  • Emotional Expression
  • Identity & Independence

Each circle explores how your social environment has influenced that area of your life, using guided questions to support deeper reflection and meaningful conversation.

### Part 3: New Lines and Experiences (4:45–5:00 PM)

You will have the opportunity to speak among yourselves and hear different perspectives.
This allows you to step onto a new β€œline” and experience how others have been shaped by their environments. If time allows, we will end with a brief reflection on what stood out to you and what new β€œlines” you may want to explore moving forward.
