About us
Hi, my name is Mckaylah, and I created Mckaylah’s Meet-Up: Uniquely You.
This group is for young adults ages 18–30 who, like me, may have physical and/or mental challenges but are still able to live independently—or have the ability to live independently—with minimal support. We are individuals who can take care of our personal hygiene, are developing or already have life and occupational skills, and are learning how to navigate the world in our own way.
Some of us are working, and some of us receive disability—and both are okay. We are all on different paths, but we are all capable and growing.
Some of us drive, and some of us use public transportation or ride-sharing—and that’s perfectly fine. We are able to get to and from meetups, and participants should be comfortable being dropped off at different venues and able to return home independently or semi-independently.
Some of us are shy, and some of us are more outgoing—but we all have one thing in common: we want connection, friendship, and a space where we can truly be ourselves.
Mckaylah’s Meet-Up: Uniquely You is a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you can come as you are. This is a place to meet new people, build friendships, grow socially, and have fun in a supportive environment.
This group is designed for individuals who can participate in social activities with minimal supervision while respecting others and contributing to a positive group experience.
We will meet in the Cordova and Bartlett areas, using community centers and local venues for our gatherings and social outings. Our goal is to create opportunities to get out, connect, laugh, and enjoy life together.
You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to fit in.
You just have to be uniquely you.
