Exam 70-483 Review
Details
Well....
On Wednesday and Saturday nights, Eric Gurney joined us and we went over a practice exam that I have bought from Udemy.
We had so much fun that we will try to do it again on Monday night.
Who: Developers wanting to better learn Advanced C# issues, and exam 70-483 candidates.
What: We will discuss various studying strategies for passing exam 70-483 (Programming in C#):
The exams that a person needs to pass in order to get their MCSD are 70-486, 40-487, and their choice of 70-483 or 70-480 (i.e., one of the languages).
So I was going to propose starting with this one, 70-483 is Programming in C#, but the book does not go over elementary things like Console.WriteLine or what a variable is. Instead, they go straight to advanced topics.
70-486 is about ASP.NET.
70-487 is about Azure.
70-480 is about HTML5 and JavaScript. Due to the limited time to complete the exams, I'm not so excited about earning my MCSD with 70-480, unless other people were. HTML5 and JavaScript does not seem to get to do as many things in Visual Studio as C# does.
The discount code for people to buy the Exam Ref books from Microsoft's website is MSCERT to save 40% until June 30th? at https://www.microsoftpressstore.com/store/exam-ref-70-483-programming-in-c-sharp-9781509306985 .
I figure that if a person were to read 10 pages per night, then they ought to be able to complete the 3 Exam Ref books in 5 months. It would probably help to track this progress on something like a calendar.
Time is of the essence, since Microsoft has announced that these tests would be retired on January 31st. And they haven't proposed any replacement for them that I have seen yet.
Perhaps if people preferred, we could look at a sample exam that I have access to instead to find out where we are.
