The course is focused on preparing individuals to become a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) or a Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS). Certification demonstrates that you meet an international standard of professional knowledge and competence in healthcare information and management systems. Many organizations require that candidates have certification and encourage current employees to obtain certification. This bootcamp style course will prepare individuals to take certification exams for either the CAHIMS or CPHIMS depending on their qualifications. CPHIMS eligibility requires one of the following criteria: 1) Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and have five years of information and management systems experience, with three of those years in a healthcare setting; or 2) Hold a graduate degree or higher from an accredited college or university and have three years of information and management systems experience, with two of those years in a healthcare setting. To be eligible for the CAHIMS exam, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

COURSE OBJECTIVES 1. Learn key concepts included in the CAHIMS/CPHIMS Health IT Certification exams. 2. Learn test taking strategies to improve exam score and success rate. 3. Train using sample questions from previous exams to better understand test question styles and material covered. 4. Complete sample tests to simulate time pressures of actual exam.
