Lunch Seminar: Genome engineering for human transplant organs.

Details

Featuring: Sean Stevens, Senior Director, Mammalian Synthetic Biology, Synthetic Genomics

Come learn about "xenotransplantation" and how pigs could serve as potential organ donors to solve the critical shortage of human donor organs. Much progress has been made towards clinical xenotransplantation recently and this seminar will discuss the barriers for the immune system dealing with foreign transplanted organs. Synthetic Genomics and United Therapeutics, have joined together to address these challenges and improve the technology.

Networking at 11.30am with the lunch and talk beginning at noon.
