Meaningful Connections in the DMV

The DMV Socialites (now Meaningful Connections in the DMV) was founded in March 2021. Our primary Mission is for Members to genuinely and positively connect with one another during fun, inclusive, and meaningful events in the DMV and beyond. After much prayer and reflection, in an effort to foster a stronger sense of community and inclusivity for all Members, and for our group to better align with this important Mission, effective September 28, 2025, our group, The DMV Socialites, has been officially renamed Meaningful Connections in the DMV.

Effective September 28, 2025, Meaningful Connections in the DMV will continue to operate as both a social and professional networking group comprised of diverse professionals, 35+, who are native or new to the DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia area). During our events, we hope that all Members will continue to connect with at least one other Member in a positive and relevant way. We can humbly and proudly say that at many of the hundreds of events we have hosted since 2021, we have seen many Meetup Members and guests meet new friends, business partners, and love interests, among other positive connections. Research shows that many adults today have far fewer friends and acquaintances than they did prior to COVID and the Tech Age, and now more than ever, more adults are seeking a real sense of belonging and community in the forms of new friendships, acquaintances, and positive connections. To help address this basic human need to belong, we will continue to offer programming and events so that all Members continue to feel seen and heard.

We gather frequently for fun activities such as group dining, domestic and international trips, game nights, sporting events and sports watch parties, holiday events, nightlife, casinos, beach days, community service, Q & A forums, Deep Dive Discussions, movie nights, museum visits, and more! Some of our events are free, and some of our events require a ticket purchase to attend. If you enjoy connecting with fellow professionals in the DMV of diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and interests, this group is for you! Members are encouraged to suggest activities they would like do, and to consider helping us host and/or organize events.

By joining this group, you agree to treat all Members, Organizers, and guests with respect during and outside of events. If you have an issue with a Member, please contact one of the Leaders to help resolve the issue. Members who act disorderly during events, who send Members inappropriate or unwanted communications outside of events, who attend paid events without paying in advance or upon arrival, who attend events without RSVPing on Meetup, who are frequent "No Shows" to events, and/or who frequently cancel coming to events, will be removed.
