Minnesota “Neighboring” How Can I Become Part of a Vibrant & Caring Community?
"Deal ye one with another with the utmost love and harmony, with friendliness and fellowship." Bahá'u'lláh

With the recent surge of ICE agents in Minnesota, ordinary people sacrificed to protect their neighbors from illegal harassment, arrest, deportation and death. Examples abound of ordinary people taking children to school and/or appointments, neighborhood groups donating food, bagging and delivering it to those sheltering in place and many people witnessing the tactics being used providing accountability. Rent was paid for those who could not return to their jobs. Businesses and restaurants that had to close are specifically being supported by the community. No one asked if someone was “worthy” or “deserving.” Racial differences, religious differences didn’t matter. Minnesotans helped those in need.

• Do you think “Neighboring” is a possible solution for the division/hate in our country?
• Do you think the Minnesota example is one that can be expanded and replicated?
• Do we know our neighbors? Their needs?

These questions and others will be discussed together based on the guidance provided by various sources of inspiration and the Writings of the Baha’i Faith, the world’s most recent independent religion, a faith whose aim is to help unify humanity. All people are welcome!
"Those who are working alone are like ants, but when they are united they will become as eagles." from the Baha’i Writings
