LIFE

“O FRIENDS! Abandon not the everlasting beauty for a beauty that must die, and set not your affections on this mortal world of dust”-Bahá’u’lláh
“He lived a good life.”
“She has a hard life.”
“You only live once.”
“Enjoy life.”
“He doesn’t have a life.”
“Get a life!”
“He lived a full life.”
We use the word life in countless ways—often casually, sometimes meaningfully—to capture our feelings, our experiences, or the journey of others. But behind these expressions lies a deeper question: What truly is life? Is it merely the sum of our experiences—our joys, struggles, routines, and ambitions? Is it defined by chance, circumstance, or survival? Or is there something more—a deeper purpose, a spiritual dimension that gives life its true meaning?
Should we plan life—or just live it? We often find ourselves caught between these two approaches.
Is there a point to life? All around us, nature seems to operate with purpose. The sun gives light and warmth, the trees purify the air, rivers nourish the earth and so on. If every part of creation serves a purpose, then what is ours?
Some might say our purpose is to “live a good life.” But what does that really mean? Is it measured by wealth, success, or comfort? Or is it something deeper?
What happens when we die? This is the question that has stirred the hearts and minds of human beings for millennia. Some believe death is the end; others see it as a beginning.
*Please join us as together we explore some of these questions and more in light of the Baha’i Writings. All are welcome regardless of background or belief.
