“Oneness” Means What? Exactly…

The principle of the “oneness of humankind” is the very center of the Baha’i Faith, the most recent of the world’s independent religions. According to the Baha’i perspective, the whole of humanity is now in the stage of adolescence, in fits and starts approaching its collective maturity as one people, a single race, one extended family. For this progress to continue, understandings that once served humanity well in its childhood must now, in its teenage years, be reconsidered and rethought in ways that have the potential to elevate our perceptions of this concept. That is what this conversation will be about as we, together, begin to rethink our adolescent notions of the “oneness of humankind” in ways that can allow us, individually and collectively, to advance toward unity, prosperity, and peace. In this space, consistent with the divine reality of our oneness, all voices and all people – of every age, class, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, and culture – are welcome…
