Social Change! Where to Begin?

In the world today, more and more of us appear to recognize that fundamental change at every level of society – the individual, community, and institutions – is necessary, and urgent!. Yet, despite this clear sentiment, very few seem to have much of an idea about what this change will entail, how one might contribute to such a transformation, and where to start this process. Yes, it is so big, very overwhelming! In the time we have for discussion this morning, there is no possible way to cover such a vast subject. Still, there is enough time for us to consider what we must know in our hearts, and express through our actions, in order for the process of meaningful and enduring social change to begin. This is a first step, one guided by the sacred Writings of the Baha’i Faith, the most recent of the world’s independent religions. The Prophet-Founder of this Faith, Baha’u’llah (Arabic for “Glory of God”), has provided the guidance that today we require to help transform the world from its present state of division and conflict toward peace, unity, and prosperity.
