Race Amity: Accepting the Truth. We Are One.
Details
“O CHILDREN OF MEN! Know ye not why We created you all from the same dust? That no one should exalt himself over the other….” - Baha’u’llah
Humanity’s crying need will not be met by a struggle among competing ambitions or by protest against one or another of the countless wrongs afflicting a desperate age. It calls, rather, for a fundamental change of consciousness, for a wholehearted embrace of Bahá’u’lláh’s teaching that the time has come when each human being on earth must learn to accept responsibility for the welfare of the entire human family. –(UHJ/ 24 May 2001: Events Marking Completion of Mount Carmel Projects)
For the last few hundred years or so, it appears that the quality of life for the vast majority of the world’s population has declined to the point of needless suffering. All of the political and social philosophies have failed to alleviate that condition. It seems that our tendency is to absolve ourselves from personal responsibility for the condition of our world and its peoples. Currently, many of us pollute our immediate environments, we waste resources and food, we don’t participate in our civic duty to elect political representatives who have the best interest of all people at heart. Perhaps we can adopt a more stewardship mentality in our dealings with our neighbors and our environment. Let’s apply one of Baha’u’llah’s Teachings about independent investigation of truth; in doing so, let’s educate ourselves about the origins of our differences, and the guidance needed to move forward.
In this meetup discussion, let’s consult on actions we can take to guide humanity on a better path of unity and harmony. We know that change is inevitable. How might we contribute to this ever-advancing civilization together? Baha’is are working through-out the world to advance the whole of humankind toward unity and justice. People of all backgrounds, religions, and beliefs are welcome!
