Finding Your Spiritual Freedom (Free Event)

Details

Is religion something we simply inherit? Or are true faith and spirituality things that each and every one of us must ultimately find for ourselves?

Trace back the history in the religious beliefs of almost any tribe, race, people or nation and you will inevitably find someone amongst their ancestors who was the first to believe – someone who did not automatically accept and blindly follow past tradition and who questioned what came before and headed towards a new path – and maybe even faced severe difficulties or even persecution for doing so. Looking far enough back even in our own families we can each likely find someone who sought answers to questions left unanswered by the traditions of their own upbringing. And though that search is not always easy, shouldn’t we each have the right and even the obligation to seek out our own spiritual path, to investigate spiritual truths for ourselves? In doing so, does that mean we have to abandon who we are – or can this search actually lead to finding our truest selves?

Come join a different kind of conversation – one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the truths that unite us all – as we discuss the spiritual perspective offered by the Bahá’í Teachings on the role of the independent investigation of truth in our spiritual journeys. Join us for a lively discussion as we explore how even amidst so many competing ideas and ideologies we can each take steps forward in finding the light of truth.

“All are seeking truth, and there are many roads leading thereto. Truth has many aspects, but it remains always and forever one.” – Bahá’í Teachings
