Questions:
1. What does the title say to you? What "half" did you imagine at first?
2. Why were/are so many people living in such terrible conditions, without any efforts being made to change the situation?
3. As housing and rental prices continue to rise, how can the return of large urban slums in currently developed countries be prevented?
4. What are the minimum requirements of a dignified living space? What controls are necessary to ensure those seeking housing can find what they need, and what incentives can be given to those providing housing to make sure it is up to standard?
5. When there is a shortage of housing, or schools or supermarkets, in an area, who is responsible for solving this problem? What solutions can be applied?
6. Why is working from home and living in a small town or cheap area not a good solution? With more robust public transportation and better designed roads, could people comfortably commute from farther away?
7. Do most of us have to give up the idea of having a private space to live most of our lives? What does this mean for families and raising children?
