Globalizing Ideas

Thanks to our growing community, we can debate big ideas with people all over the world... Simultaneously!!

https://ideas-exchange.info/en/

Join our global community of minds and share with people in different countries and from all backgrounds thorough our weekly online debates. Imagine debating with people in 10 different countries at the same time... How awesome is that?

This is a safe, inclusive and respectful space designed to talk to other humans, learn from one another and implement our ideas, in all relevant aspects of life.

We will discuss both “big” and “small” ideas, talking about the past, present, and future, the ideal world and our everyday reality.

Each Meetup will have a main focus subject, with a wide margin to explore other interesting topics.

Our main rule:

“I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

Some subjects we’ll explore:

Human wellbeing and psychology

Relationships and family

Society, economics and politics

Lifestyles, cultures and languages

Technology and futurism

Philosophy, religions and ideologies

The “why” and “what for” of life

And many more, that we’ll decide on together…

Longevity gurus, biotech visionaries, bold podcasts, billionaires funding labs, and scientists trying to decode aging itself… We are fascinated by the idea that getting older may no longer be an untouchable law of nature. But we are faced with a question: are we witnessing the beginning of a real scientific revolution, or a powerful mix of hope, hype, and privilege? And even more importantly: if humans can meaningfully slow aging, what would that mean for ordinary people, our societies, and the gap between those who can afford more time and those who cannot?
We will explore the dream of anti-aging beyond skincare and cosmetic promises, focusing instead on the science, the controversies, and the social consequences. We’ll examine the difference between living longer and living better, how longevity research is communicated to the public, what counts as real evidence, and whether “healthspan” should matter more than simply adding years. We’ll also discuss the ethical and economic implications of a future in which extended healthy life may arrive unevenly.
We’ll get together in front of our screens and with coffee or other beverage in hand to talk to other human beings who are just as passionate as we are about finding answers.
    Some subjects we’ll touch on:
    · Can aging itself be treated, or only the diseases that come with it?
    · “Forever young” vs reality: lifespan, healthspan, and what is actually plausible
    · Anti-aging gurus and longevity influencers: science communicators or hype merchants?
    · Why success in mice does not automatically translate to humans
    · If longevity breakthroughs happen, who gets access first — and who gets left behind?
    · Would longer lives make society wiser, fairer, and healthier… or more unequal and stagnant?
    · And so much more!
Upon finishing the get-together, we will have explored one of the most ambitious dreams of our time and asked ourselves: if we could buy more years, what kind of life — and what kind of society — would we want those years to create?

We live in the age of information – there is no other factor that can generate more riches today than controlling and processing petabytes of data in a massive way.
On the one hand, we receive incredible search, information, and networking tools for free. This has made Google, Facebook, and Amazon into true giants. However, the average consumer doesn’t realize that we receive so much for free because we’re not the customers, but the product of the technological titans.
Equally important is the debate on how much security a state should provide to its citizens, and at what cost. Hundreds of millions of cameras with facial recognition in China are dragging us into the times of Big Brother, whether we like it or not.
We’ll get together in front of our screens and with coffee or other beverage in hand talk to other human beings that are as passionate as ourselves about finding answers.
    Some subjects we’ll touch on:
    · What’s more important – privacy or security?
    · Who and in what way should own our data?
    · Google, Facebook, Amazon – too powerful?
    · Is controlling your data a human right?
    · The right to be forgotten – utopia or necessity?
    · The upcoming world – the end of privacy?
    · The digital elite vs. the people left behind – how do we solve this challenge?
    · Digital surveillance, facial recognition by states – the end of anonymity?
    · And so much more!
Upon finishing the get-together, we will have understood the challenges facing the privacy of the individual and proposed solutions to encounter a new equilibrium with companies and the state.
