Run a Faster 10K - 10 Week Clinic

• What we'll do Run a Faster 10k course runs from Tuesday April 17th to Tuesday June 19th, 2018. 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Cost is just $40. Register at events.mec.ca. This gradual training program is designed to prepare participants who are currently comfortable running 5k to run 10km faster over the course of 10 weeks. Participants often begin at different levels of fitness and are encouraged to complete each training session to the best of their ability. The Run 10k program is progressive and fun. Experience running at least 5km runs is recommended. Join us for an engaging workout with our experienced run clinic leader, Steve Forst (@forst_steve). Weekly sessions will consist of a 15 min class covering training, fitness and technique, followed by a 45 min group run session. A training plan will be provided to you at the first session outlining the entire clinic. • What to bring Dress appropriately for each clinic; consider rain, temperature and day light. Bike Maintenance 101

Come join us for an in-store session that focuses on the basic of bike maintenance. Learn... • How to maintain your bike's chain and components. • How to change a tire and patch a tube. • How to adjust your brakes. This information clinic will provide you with the basic skills to keep your ride safe and smooth along the road or trail. This event alternates on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Wednesday clinics are from 12pm-1pm and Thursday clinics are 6pm-7pm. Please ask for directions at the Member Service Desk. You do not need your own bike to participate. This event is $10. Walk to 5K - 10 Week Clinic

• What we'll do This course runs from 7:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday April 19th through Tuesday June 21st. Registrants are welcome to sign up until the fifth week of the course (May 17th). This ten week clinic will guide you through a fun and safe progression of walking and running with the aim of confidently preparing you to complete a 5K run. Weekly sessions will consist of a 15 minute talk followed by a specifically prescribed workout. Freddy R (@Freddyrjusto), an MEC Toronto #mecstaffer will be leading the clinics, adding a great deal of knowledge on the aspects of running. DETAILS Please meet on time at the MEC Toronto Store (400 King Street West) Member Service Desk, located just inside the store. Ask a friendly staff member for assistance if needed.
