7/7/25 Machu Picchu Trip Summary: Lessons learned - Zoom meeting

During this Zoom meeting we provide an overview of our May 2025 Machu Picchu trip. We discuss (1) our specific routes, guides, and experiences, (2) lessons learned, (3) training routines, and (4) recommendations if we were to do it again. There will be time for Q&A for those interested in visiting.

It was an amazing adventure and the experience taught important lessons about the awe of ancient cultures and natural beauty, team work, physical discipline, and mental toughness.

About Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu stands 2,430 m above sea-level, in the middle of a tropical mountain forest, in an extraordinarily beautiful setting. It was probably the most amazing urban creation of the Inca Empire at its height; its giant walls, terraces and ramps seem as if they have been cut naturally in the continuous rock escarpments. The natural setting, on the eastern slopes of the Andes, encompasses the upper Amazon basin with its rich diversity of flora and fauna.
