Agenda
- Topic 1: Hope in the Balance: Longing, Belief, and the Future we Imagine
Summary: Beyond blind optimism, hope is the courage to imagine a meaningful future in a world of uncertainty. Hope in the Balance invites us to see hope as both a desire and a discipline. - Bio: Patrick Aguilar is a practicing physician and Professor of Practice in Organizational Behavior at WashU Olin Business School, where he also leads efforts around the Business of Health. He hopes that he generally helps people develop strategies to meet their goals (and that he one day actually plays the guitar skillfully).
- Topic 2: A Narrative of Resilience
Her presentation on Building a Narrative of Hope and Resilience will focus on ways that narrative and story telling can increase one’s ability for hope and resilience both individually and multi-generationally. The presentation will include both lecture and interactive exercises. - Bio: Dr. Christine Schneider, PhD, LCSW, BCN is a psychotherapist, couple and family therapist as well as the CEO of Integrative Mind Institute. She is also an adjunct instructor in St. Louis University Medical School.
