Join us Saturday morning to honor the Buddha by observing the July full moon with traditional activities: we meditate, listen to a Dhamma talk, take Refuge & 5 Precepts, chant recollection of the Buddha, and enjoy a potluck brunch offering together.
SCHEDULE
9:00 am Meditation
9:45 am Break
10:00 am Welcome and Dhamma talk
10:45 am Break
11:00 am Refuge & precepts, chanting, and sharing merits
12:00 pm Dana potluck lunch
Program ends at 1pm.
(At 2pm we will hold our weekly meditation & teaching as usual.)
On the Esala (July) full moon we commemorate the Buddha's first sermon. It also marks when monks enter into their annual 3 months of continuous residency, called the Vassa, during east India's monsoon season. For more on Esala (Asalha) Poya:
