Maria Yoga classes at Guang Ming Temple, Hoffner Ave.
Wednesdays 6:30 PM The regular class.
Thursdays 6:30 PM, an easy does it class for beginners or those who need to take it easy.
Saturdays 11:30 AM The regular class.

New class Tuesdays at 11:00 AM, but you need to contact me a day before to make the class happen. If you are the only one in the class then it would be reasonable that you pay something extra beyond the usual cost of one.

The regular class description:

Be Calm, Be Strong, Do Power Yoga with Maria. All levels.
Every one who has been coming to this class is nominating this caring and motivating teacher the Yoga teacher of the Year and the best Yoga teacher in Orlando. A class you will want to come back for regularly.

This class consists of an hour and fifteen minutes of watching your breath while you do some Yoga moves that build strength not only in your muscles but in your organs. The last fifteen minutes are for relaxing and meditating and receiving Reiki/massage around the forehead, scalp, and ear lobes.

The pose sequence includes lots of Sun Salutations, Warrior poses, down dog poses, then some triangles and twists, then some work on the mat to build your core muscles. There are also a few inverted poses, very rarely will she have the class do the headstand. Overall you will enjoy her voice and understand her instructions.

You will never get tired of this Yoga class. She never does the same class, or the same routine. Each class has a little variety, a different sequence, a special emphasis, so your body won't get bored.

Maria is very encouraging and allows you to modify the poses to make them comfortable for you for that day. So honor your body and listen to what it can do that day. I think you will find this Yoga class perfect for you.

Come along for the journey into your mind-body. See you there. Don't forget your Yoga mat so you don't slip (but the floor is actually pretty good for non-slipping as long as it is dry) and to wear comfortable loose clothes (and go bare footed). Bathroom down the hall.

See you there,
Cost: $10.00 [Please pay cash and sign in with the secretary, preferably before starting the class. Thank you.]
The easy does it class description

Every Thursday at 6:30 PM, Guang Ming Temple, Hoffner Ave.
If you feel out of place with other Yoga classes, and need more guidance and correction, this may work well for you. Or if you just came out of some sort of physical treatment and need some time to get back to the way you were before, then this may help you focus on your body at your pace and your reach, without worrying about trying to keep up with any body else.

You will love Maria's attention and patience. Explain to her your needs and worries.
Ask her questions, like how to adjust the posture for your condition.

It's been going on for a while, and lots of folks are coming regularly.

Every Thursday at 6:30 PM. Lasts about an hour and ten minutes.

Costs only $10.00 cash. You may want to pay in advance for a bunch of these classes and save some money. Then keep track of the classes you take with a ticket or in a note book.

Ease your body gently into and out of the yoga postures. Don't go any farther than you need to for that day. Don't get discouraged that you are not where you used to be or hope to be like the others. Just focus on your needs. Do not strain your limbs, tendons, muscles, organs. If you have a hard time breathing then ease up. See if you can remain calm throughout. Keep smiling.
Maria will help you align your body in the asanas (Yoga poses).

You should check with your doctor before you begin a course if you suffer from a medical condition or have any doubts. But as long as you remain aware of your breathing and your limbs and how it feels, and ease up when you feel unnecessary pain, then you should be okay.

Have an intention before and at the beginning of the class. Also think about what each pose is working on. Some poses might be rejuvenating, so imagine that you are becoming younger. Some massage your organs, so imagine that your are purifying or detoxifying your body. Your mind is also getting a workout because you will be so concentrated and you will forget about your worries. When the class is over you will be better able to tackle your problems. Dedicate the class to your self and your loved ones.
