Have you ever noticed how repeating a word, sound, or gentle tone can help quiet the mind?
This relaxed online session is part of a short Meditation Discovery Series, offering gentle introductions to different meditation practices.
If your mind has been feeling busy or restless lately, this session may help you slow down and experience a different way of settling the mind.
Rather than spending a long time talking about meditation, we’ll spend most of the session experiencing the practice together, so you can discover how meditation feels in your own mind and body.

This Session: Sound and Mantra Meditation
In this session we will explore sound-based meditation, using simple sounds such as gentle humming and repeating calming tones or simple mantras to help settle the mind.
Sound can be a powerful way to focus attention. The gentle vibration created by humming can stimulate the vagus nerve, which plays an important role in helping the body relax and settle. Many people find that humming naturally brings a sense of calm, grounding, and relaxation.
During the session we may explore practices such as:
• gentle humming
• repeating a calming tone or simple mantra
• noticing the vibration and sensation of sound in the body
These practices are simple, natural, and no singing ability or previous experience is needed.

This will be a gentle and relaxed session designed to help you slow down and explore meditation through sound and vibration.
During the session we will:

✔ Take part in a guided sound meditation practice
✔ Enjoy a calm and supportive space to relax and unwind
✔ Take a quiet moment at the end to settle and reflect
✔ Optional time for any questions
If you would like to, you may also wish to spend a minute or two writing down anything you noticed during the meditation in a notebook or journal.
You are welcome to join with your camera on or off — whatever feels most comfortable for you.
