You Have No Idea How Beautiful You Are: A Meditation on the True Nature of the Body
Have you ever asked yourself: What exactly is my body? Arms, chest, head and all that. But what is my actual body? Or, where is my actual body? Do I even really have one! Where does it go when I’m dreaming? What’s that dream-body all about?
Buddha loves when we ask these kinds of questions. And according to Buddha, our body is merely created by our mind. It’s not “there” in the way we normally think it is. Its actual nature is what is referred to as emptiness, a lack of inherent existence.
The emptiness teachings, the true nature of reality, are transformative; they are not abstract or airy-fairy (superficial). Emptiness is reality itself. In particular, by becoming familiar with the experience of the ultimate nature of the body, we shall experience far less suffering, anxiety, and frustration in relation to our body. Our physical tension will diminish, and our health will improve. Even when we do become sick, our physical discomfort will not disturb our mind. Then, we will be of maximum benefit to others.
In this course, Alexandra will give teachings and meditations on the profoundly transformative meditation on the emptiness of the body. Everyone is welcome – both new and experienced practitioners.
