This meetup group is currently under development and is NOT active. A working program has been written below for your perusal.
This meetup group is for age 18+ individuals on the autism spectrum requiring medium to high support needs (MSN and HSN) commonly associated with level 2 or level 3 autism.
We also welcome those who are 2e -- twice-exceptional || spiky/asynchronous cognitive profiles || someone with gifted intellectual abilities while also having disabilities or learning differences.
You do not need a diagnosis to join this group. We understand that clinical assessment may be financially or logistically impossible. If you believe you need more informal support, then you should consider joining us. We are all here to support each other.
We fundamentally do not agree with functioning labels as they are harmful. However, we do recognise there are, self evidently, a slice of neurodivergent folk whom require substantially more supports to thrive compared to a different slice of people on the autism colour wheel.
This space is for peer support, learning, and flourishing. We require all our members to show respect and kindness to each other. We want to make this place a safe and inclusive space for everyone.
Our discussions are broad so as to cater to our diverse community.
