mHealth: Opportunities in Diagnosis of Malaria

Even though much has been achieved in 15 years, many challenges are still ahead on the road to the elimination of malaria, diagnostic and treatment are two of them. To overcome these challenges, research and development on malaria tools focus nowadays on the field of mobile health. The portability, the accessibility and the simplicity of mobile phone make them, the most fitted device to support the fight against malaria.

There will be a presentation of world first two commercially available mHealth apps. An automated malaria diagnostic test “xRapid Malaria”, and a disruptive automated counter that assists the research on malaria “xRapid Lab”.
The conference will bring together public health researchers, scientists, policymakers, government agencies and private sector to engage with health professionals on malaria elimination and the achievement of better health for Africa.
