Background info - in the 16th century, documents suggest it housed Dutch, Walloon and Flemish refugees/strangers who were weavers and fleeing religious persecution. They brought skills and wealth to the city and the hall has since been extended and improved throughout its history e.g, The Dining Room is Georgian. Each room tells a story of different time periods.
